Our dedicated executive committee meticulously arranges workshops, activities, and panel discussions to target healthcare and disease prevention in children by providing advice from the paediatric faculty, paediatric subspecialties and medical students. MSPA strives to provide our medical students and aspiring medical students with the utmost fulfilling educational experience, hoping to cultivate student interest as they explore opportunities beyond the school curriculum.
Our theme this year is hope and progress – to bring hope and progress to not only our association, but also the paediatric community.

This year's theme of “Navigating Paediatrics: From Infancy to Adolescence" highlights the diverse needs of paediatric patients and the essential skills required to care for them. Esteemed pediatric specialists shared insights from their careers, bridging theory with real-world practice. We hope our interactive sessions combining talks and mini-games offer participants valuable perspectives to consider paediatrics as a future career path.

Alongside physical events, themed info packs on common paediatric skin diseases—diaper rash, eczema, chickenpox, and hand-foot-mouth disease—will be shared via our Instagram to address public knowledge gaps. In Hong Kong, over 25% of children experience skin conditions, yet misconceptions persist about causes, treatments, and their links to mental health impacts like anxiety and stress in families. The packs will clarify myths and provide actionable insights to boost awareness and understanding of both physiological and psychological effects.

MSPA’s annual Clinical Skills Workshop, one of our association's biggest events, was held on 19th and 27th July, 2025! This two-day event offers secondary school students a glimpse into paediatrics and medicine through hands-on clinical skills activities, problem-based learning tutoruals, interactive lectures, immersive games, and more. Through thoughtfully designed, immersive activities, participants get to apply their knowledge to real clinical scenarios, deepening their understanding of medical fields, particularly paediatrics. Moreover, participants will get to network paediatricians and medical students to learn more about working in the field. .
This year’s theme, “Pediatric Chronic Diseases,” pays homage to the rising global prevalence. of chronic diseases in children. Our thoughtfully designed activities simulate a chronic disease patient's journey, from diagnosis to recovery, to showcase paediatricians’ roles in helping these patients and cultivates empathy for patients and caregivers. Past themes, including cancer and mental health, similarly used immersive activities to raise awareness.

As Christmas approached, the Medical Students’ Paediatrics Association expanded their outreach to distribute Christmas cards and gifts at three hospitals – Queen Mary Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, and Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital. We invited medical students to draft Christmas blessings and encouraging messages for young patients, which were then handwritten on self-designed Christmas cards. We also collected donations including toys, stationary, and books from medical students, which were wrapped into gifts together with mini Christmas ornaments made by children from the DIY workshop earlier. As we distributed the presents to paediatric patients, it was heartwarming to see the beautiful smiles on the children’s faces. It felt rewarding to convey warmth and deliver festive blessings to the paediatrics ward.
We sincerely thank the three hospitals for collaborating with us on this event. We hope this can serve as motivation and support for patients going through challenging journeys in life.

To express our care for the paediatric community, we collaborated with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (Ping Shek) and conducted a DIY workshop with primary school children. We taught children how to make mini christmas trees with simple artistic materials. The Christmas trees made were then packaged into Christmas gifts for paediatric patients at different local hospitals. Through this activity, we hope to allow children to enjoy the joy of giving.

Our Volunteering Department organised a Christmas party in the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (Ping Shek) with primary school children. MSPA members played group games with children, hoping to enhance the mental well-being of children and alleviate their stress. Children were having so much fun that they were reluctant to leave!
